I HAVE been reading a lot about Warrington’s history in the Warrington Guardian recently and I am sure that many can put a bit more history forward every week that people will not know about.
For instance, a gentleman called Cecil Kimber lived in a large house in Grappenhall for a short while.
Unless you are a motoring enthusiast the name will mean nothing.
He was the man who brought about MG cars in 1928.
He died in 1945 in a freak railway accident at Kings Cross railway station and was sadly one of two casualties.
He was travelling to Leeds but couldn’t get petrol coupons to drive his own car there.
