FOR the past five years Labour’s parliamentary spokesman for Warrington South Nick Bent has fed us Ed Milliband’s sound bite of the ‘One Nation Labour’.
But when Ed Milliband, The Labour Party and Mr Bent all failed to get elected at the last general election Mr Bent quickly sought to distance himself from Ed Milliband.
As soon as the Labour Party declared its leadership candidates Mr Bent shifted completely from the left to the right declaring his support for Liz Kendall, whom not only came last in the contest but got four-and-a-half per cent of the vote.
Surely this now makes Nick Bent’s position as Labour’s Parliamentary spokesman for Warrington South and his candidacy for the 2020 general election untenable.
Anything he says or does to support Jeremy Corbyn will be seen as insincere.
It is my opinion that if Mr Bent does not do the honourable thing by stepping down then he is standing to serve his own political interest.
