I WAS surprised to read the claim in the Warrington Guardian, September 17, that the tax advantages gained by companies based off shore are the avoidance of capital gains tax, inheritance tax and stamp duty.
Surely the main tax advantage – and our biggest source of lost tax revenue – is the saving in corporation tax on their profits.
