WITH reference to Jon Paul’s letter entitled Backward Step (Warrington Guardian, August 27) regarding Jeremy Corbyn MP.

With most of the national press scraping the bottom of the barrel in their efforts to frighten those voting in the leadership ballot, Jon Paul’s letter echoes the hatred and fear that the establishment is sharing.

This fear is expressed in the dirty tricks agenda against Corbyn because if he is elected it could be the first step towards ordinary people having a say in how our society is run.

The consequences of this to the bankers and their backers, who have exploited ordinary people, would be to make them responsible to end this exploitation through energy, utilities and transport costs.

When it became known that Jeremy Corbyn was gaining support, warning bells began to ring, even within his own party and parliamentary colleagues.

Ordinary hard working people trust him as he sees things as they are in reality.

He does not require the creations of spin doctors or the manipulation of statistics.

He recognises that austerity only punishes the less well off, while the affluent only increase their affluence.

He recognises that people have had enough of austerity and would end the economic principles of two centuries ago.

Corbyn is the only MP not afraid of change.

If Corbyn does win the ballot to lead the Labour party it will be a new dawn for the Labour movement and the population of our country and a positive step in the right direction.
