COULD Andy Burnham be the saviour of the Labour party?

Reading last week’s Warrington Guardian (August 20) I was interested by his comments re Jeremy Corbyn.

Clearly Corbyn is the favourite to become the new Labour leader.

But to hear that Burnham would be happy to work alongside him was really refreshing.

If Labour is to be a long term threat at the General Election it must elect someone other than the left-wing Corbyn.

But what cannot be allowed is for that part of the party to not be represented.

I agree with a lot of what he says – especially re-nationalising our desperate railways.

So let’s have those different voices within the Labour party. It might help get the Tories out.

But let’s have Burnham leading Labour.

He can be the man to lead the party to victory at the polls again.
