MAY I reply to the comments regarding the cycle paths.
When I wrote the original letter to the Warrington Guardian (Thursday, July 23) I did state the incident on Chester Road was in the height of the rush hour traffic.
I was driving behind a line of HGVs that had started from the lights and they were forced onto the middle of the road.
Considering Mr Owens’ comments about the danger of cycle paths, is he a fit person to be promoting cycling?
I am a keen cyclist having recently returned to the pastime after knee surgery.
After Mr Owens’ reply to my letter, twice I have cycled the whole of Chester Road in the rush hour right to the top of Daresbury using the cycle path and it was nothing but a pleasure and incident free.
Mr Owens you have lost the plot.
The taxpayers of this town have paid hundreds of thousands of hard earned pounds so middle aged men in Lycra and sensible people can cycle in safety.
Also I do agree that Mr Bebbington and myself should put our ‘considerable weight’ into making sure all cyclists should obey the law.
Happy cycling.
