I HAVE recently been admitted to Warrington Hospital’s surgical assessment unit (SAU) and later moved to ward A5.

So many people are quick to complain about their hospital, staff, care etc.

When you receive a good service, great care, no-one says a dickie bird.

I believe it’s good to give positive feedback when you’ve received great care.

In SAU I was looked after by senior and junior staff and headed by ward sister Linda Doherty who ticked every box, she made time for you, was very hands on in the care and running of her department.

Even after I was moved to A5 she came to see how I was, they need to knit lots more Lindas!

Salt of the earth Julie, a healthcare assistant from SAU, was so lovely and in the evening shift senior staff nurse Mildred was full of warmth and made me laugh when I felt awful and poorly.

After moving to A5 because SAU ended up with just me on there the bed managers closed the unit on the Saturday evening, I was looked after on Sunday by a junior staff nurse who was looking after nine patients that day.

She was super efficient and as a mentor myself I thought she did an amazing job. Any trust is lucky to have her. I found the healthcare assistants did an outstanding job, multi-tasking and always had a smile to pick you up.
