AT around 7.30pm on June 29, my daughter was playing on the park opposite the Little Manor in Thelwall.

There were lots of children playing football on the fields and people sat having a drink in the sun.

I spotted a little beige terrier running round and thought it belonged to a parent on the football team.

The next minute, my seven-year-old daughter screamed so loud then came running as I was running to her.

The dog attacked her causing significant cuts to her left hand and puncture marks to her wrist and bruising to her lower arm.

Earlier that day we had been in Whiston Hospital, near St Helens, while she bravely had three teeth removed.

As you can imagine, we were terribly upset and shocked.

A fellow customer at the Manor asked for a lead to at least tie the dog up as there were kids everywhere.

We reported it straight to the police while en route to accident and emergency but they later called and said they didn’t have any officers to go and collect the dog.

What became of that dog we don’t know.

But we hope it didn’t attack anyone else.
