MY children took part in Padgate and Woolston Walking Day on Saturday, we walk with church every year.
My daughter was holding the church banner when we walked past two older ladies.
I heard them comment how beautiful my daughter was in a pink dress, followed by ‘just look, what a shame she couldn’t wear nice shoes and not those awful boots’. My daughter has a medical condition called hypermobility syndrome which affects her joints.
She has to have special insoles and can only wear Kicker boots as she needs the support around her ankle.
If she was to wear anything other than her boots she would fall and be in a lot more pain than she is.
Thankfully my daughter didn’t hear the comment.
People need to realise not every person is the same. There is a lot people don’t see.
Like the pain my daughter was in that evening due to walking!
