JOHN Hamblett nearly got the words right regarding our singsong at the Ritz cinema, Warrington Guardian, May 7.

It went: “We are the boys and girls well known as Minors of the ABC And every Saturday all line up to see the film’s we love And shout aloud with glee.

We like to laugh and have our singsong.

Just a happy crowd are we, We’re all pals together.

We’re Minors of the ABC”

The Odeon cinema also had a singsong before the film started.

One of the ones I remember was an old folk song which was about a man who loved his wife.

It was called Dashing Away With the Smoothing Iron, what a chauvinistic song that was.
