RECENTLY there has been a spate of letters to the Warrington Guardian praising the coalition government’s handling and funding of the NHS.

However in the wake of news a private company, fronted by Tory MP Malcolm Rifkind, has won an £80 million hospital contract despite being outbid by a NHS consortium this praise now seems rather insular.

The way the government acted on the matter of privatisation gives rise to the saying ‘power corrupts’.

Now the Tory party has retained control of parliament we shall further see that ‘absolute power corrupts absolutely’.
