I READ in the Warrington Guardian this week of the heavy handed police presence in certain streets targeting motorists ignoring the access only issue.
These particular roads are some of the widest roads in the borough.
What makes these roads so special as to restrict through traffic?
I live in Cawdor Street WA4 6LU, a road only two thirds the width of said roads and this goes for all the streets in our surrounding area.
Due to heavy-handed traffic wardens etc in Stockton Heath our streets are constantly full of parked cars.
For the past seven years we have been used as a rat run due to United Utilities having various road closures.
This has caused severe congestion on the main roads in and around our village.
On the end of our street we have a five-road junction with cars and commercial vehicles constantly looking for short cuts.
Why can’t we be afforded the luxury that these streets in Warrington are provided with and the police presence to go with it at such expense to the taxpayers in the rest of Warrington?
