IF the council has men with chainsaws who have nothing better to do than cut the small ‘lost souls’ tree stump even smaller, can I suggest that they turn their attention to the dense foliage that obscures many of the directional road signs on the roads that lead in and out of the town.

So if you are a stranger to the town and you are stuck for directions and you find the sign that you need is almost completely obscured by foliage in the summer, don’t worry.

If you wait until winter when the trees shed their leaves you will probably be able to read the directions on them.
