I READ in last week’s issue that Conservative MP for Warrington South, David Mowat is hoping that voters would judge him on his record. I hope they do too.
Firstly before being elected Mr Mowat claimed that David Cameron’s government would ‘look after the poorest and most vulnerable in our society’.
After tax cuts for the wealthiest Mr Mowat suddenly changed his opinion and stated ‘the country could not afford to look after these people’.
Secondly Mr Mowat claims to be a patron of Disability Awareness Day at Walton Gardens.
Yet he votes with a Government that has repeatedly cut support and funding for this very group of people.
Let’s carry on. The NHS has just had it’s worst bill of health report for over 20 years.
Yet each time a damming report comes out Mr Mowat sends out literature of a possible new bridge across the River Mersey, redirecting our attention away from his party’s failings.
With a record like this I think even David himself will agree that enough is enough.
