THE injured swan incident seems regular as their flight path, the canal, goes over the dual carriageway.
In early February traffic was driving around a young swan walking along Sankey Way, near Lane Ends.
I managed to go round the roundabout and stop behind it.
I got out of the car and pushed it onto the grass verge and then I tried to phone the RSPCA, while stopping the swan from walking back onto the road.
I too was faced with advice and hold music from the RSPCA.
I gave up and put the swan in my car and drove to Sankey Valley Park and put it back in the canal.
I have saved a few swans from being killed by other swans, even their own family!
I think it enjoyed the ride, looking through the window and not in the least concerned!
