I READ with great interest Cllr Ian Marks’ response to the recent installation of speed humps on Cherry Lane in Lymm.
I have to agree with Mr Mark’s the amount of speed humps is excessive, totally unnecessary and a waste of council taxpayers’ money.
I would have thought a speed restriction on Cherry Lane from the direction of the M6 interchange and the installation of a chicane would have been far more effective.
The issue regarding HGVs using Cherry Lane requires to be resolved quickly as the problems it causes when an HGV comes to the acute bend where Cherry Lane meets Elm Tree Road are unbelievable. A 38-tonne HGV trying to negotiate that bend is a sight to be seen.
While we are on about traffic calming Warrington Borough Council, for years and years Broad Lane at Grappenhall has been a constant rat run for traffic coming from Appleton Thorn.
Could the residents of Grappenhall not have a speed restriction and two chicanes built on Broad Lane. Warrington Borough Council?
