I DROVE to Morrison’s supermarket on Tuesday at lunch time.

As I drove into the car park I was surprised to see that every parent and child bay was being used.

I parked my car in a normal parking bay. After struggling to get the car seat out of the back door, as the bays are a lot smaller, I saw a lady walking to her car with a bag of shopping.

I didn’t confront her straightaway as she may have had a child in the car that I hadn’t noticed.

Once I realised she was on her own I said to her: “No wonder people struggle to get their children out of the car when people abuse the designated spaces when they don’t need them.”

Her remarkable reply to me was that she has four children. I said ‘with you today?’ and she said, ‘no at home’.

She then began to tell me that everybody she knows parks in them as it is easier.

I was completely shocked by this.

She didn’t show any compassion or even a slight embarrassment at the fact she was parked there.

She got in her car, shut her door and drove off.

Do these people not care?
