THE article in the Warrington Guardian on the micro earthquake in the early hours of Monday appears to have solved a 'mystery' in our household.
My wife and myself had gone to bed before midnight but we were both woken by a large bang in the early hours. I shot up saying 'what the hell was that'.
I thought initially somebody was downstairs but we have a burglar alarm which was not affected.
I went downstairs ( making a noise just in case) , which I recall was around that time, about 3-20 on our clock, turning off the alarm before entering the living room.
There on the floor was a broken glazed picture frame which had fallen off a high level shelf.
The picture has been there in that position for over 4 years along with another and we just could not fathom what had caused it to come down. I had moved it to one side to allow for recent Christmas decorations but returned it to its usual secure position.
I can only assume that the reason was the micro earthquake that you refer too.
