I WOULD just like tell you about my experience today trying to recycle my extra Christmas rubbish at my local recycling centre.

I did leave some extra bin bags out with my recycling bins for collection, but they were left and not collected, thanks a bunch.

So I thought I would do my bit and take my rubbish to the tip, as I did last year.

I was expecting it to be busy and as badly managed as last year so was expecting a queue.

Massive queue and no sign of any management of the site/queue in order to get the backlog processed as quickly as possible, there were 20-plus cars.

I waited for 30 minutes with no progress, so like most of the drivers we decided to park up and walk with our rubbish the last 20 metres to the edge of the site, where we were told they would not accept any rubbish and we had to wait.

No explanation as to why there was no progress or movement and the staff were rude.

All the drivers and people I talked to did expect a queue, but not this shambles.

This was a joke as it was clear they could not deal at any level with the volume of cars.

Come on, Warrington Borough Council, with the amount of staff you had wandering around, not doing much, you should have managed this much quicker.

This is clearly not about budgets as you had the volume of staff, but a complete lack of capability. Sadly it’s not the first time when common sense in managing a situation at the site was missing.

Makes me wonder why I bothered...
