A WARNING to all parents with prams or young children.

Be wary of shopping in Warrington.

While shopping today, making my way to the tills, two grocery assistants were walking behind me, my partner and our four-week-old baby.

They were discussing their weekend drinking plans and how wasted they would be getting, not paying attention to the crates they were pushing to stack which were stacked about five higher than they could see. They then walked into my partner and our baby, and had I not jumped in front of them causing myself small injury a fully loaded crate would have fallen onto our baby and undoubtedly caused serious harm or a fatality.

The female assistant then got abusive, swearing at me and telling me to get out of her way while her male co worker was laughing at the whole incident.

Both me and my partner were distressed by the incident, so we tried to make a complaint to management, who have brushed the whole thing off telling us that as there is no CCTV there is nothing they are prepared to do other than remind the assistants not to stack their trolley high.

I am disgusted with the conduct of both assistants and management as this could have been an extremely serious incident had I not jumped in front of my pram.
