IT’S clear that the interest of readers in the General Election is growing, and that’s a good thing.

Warrington and Britain face a big choice on May 7, 2015, between five more years of dreadful Tory Government or a fresh start with a One Nation Labour Government.

The result in swing seats like Warrington South will decide who runs the country until 2020, so there is a lot at stake here.

And only a vote for Labour will get the Tories out.

Locally, the Labour party and our parliamentary candidate Nick Bent want a clean campaign.

People deserve a robust debate about the big issues facing Britain, and we believe we can have that debate in a civilised manner.

Labour has positive, fully-costed polices on issues that people tell Nick matter to them: the cost of living and fair wages; childcare; rescuing the NHS; tougher border controls; investing more in our young people.

Equally, it’s important that all the key facts are out in the open so voters can make up their own minds.

The current Tory MP may not want people to know he has moved to Macclesfield, but that it is a fact and it was his choice to leave Warrington.

The Tory MP broke an election promise to live here, and voters have a right to know it.

Similarly, the Tory MP may not want people to know he has given more than £150,000 of his own money to the local Conservative Association, but that is clearly stated in Electoral Commission public records.

In contrast, Labour relies on ‘people power’, with scores of volunteers helping Nick Bent to beat the Tories. To join our team, please visit:WarringtonSouth.org.
