I AM a 17-year-old psychology, graphics and product design student in Barrow Hall College, Great Sankey and enthusiastic to write to you to dispute the abomination of what is called Burtonwood ‘internet’.

As lovely, quiet and positive the minuscule village is, the internet is just not worthy to be called internet.

Me and many other people in my area are tired of the useless internet here.

On most days my speeds are limited to 0.2mbps, which is excruciating.

At the moment I am currently studying for my A-level exams so that I can confidently progress my education to university – my internet speeds blockade this.

At home, I try to do research for my subjects, completing tasks set and studying, all of which I need the internet to complete.

Our 0.2mbps ‘internet’ speeds are causing me to lack my full potential in my studies, some days I can’t even load up internet pages and watching videos barricades me to 144p quality.

This internet is shielding my goals in life and discontinuing my short steps towards my ambitions.

I, representing our community, say it needs to stop! We deserve better broadband speed in Burtonwood!

We need fibre optic broadband in Burtonwood.

We need a closer exchange so that we can get the speeds we deserve and pay for.

For a long time we have lived in shame of our internet and we deserve it to stop, for our benefit.

My internet angers me and others and is very quite depressing as this isn’t the way we should live.

Internet is our way of life and a human necessity... it is a human right and to be honest, 0.2mbps internet, is like having no internet; this makes us sad.
