EVERY time the M6 Thelwall bridge is closed there is gridlock. Part of the problem is Warburton toll bridge.
I gather that the toll actually applies to an old stone bridge that crosses the dried up River Mersey bed, not the Manchester Ship Canal cantilever bridge.
If this is so, the right to charge a toll was given by an Act of Parliament and the right to do so can be taken away by another Act.
Is there a way for an online petition to be started, so the House of Commons have to debate this?
