IN my opinion most of the UK’s problems are caused by ‘little man’ syndrome.

We used to be this giant imperial machine that trod on other countries for their resources and sometimes people.

The countries and people of our empire gradually started to realise what had happened to them and started to break away. The first, of course, America.

Nowadays we seem to have to run the country like Japan, massively over populated and over industrialised, chasing the economic dream of the past.

Can’t we just all calm down! Do we have to be in all the ‘big boy’ clubs of G8, nuclear power, UN, Nato. Why do we feel the need to send six bombers to Iraq when the Royal Saudi Air Force has 652 war planes?

Like a little man trying to elbow his way into a card game of his bigger, richer and more powerful mates it seems to be about ego, let it go UK.

Let’s make change happen from our end. Not the cabal of greedy ecocidal politicians that all seem to be millionaires from their deals with big oil. If you see two jackets, one made from oil, one made from plants, try to make the decision that is right for your world.

The big six power companies seem to have a stranglehold on the UK, and half of them are foreign-owned but our politicians have serious shareholdings! Try changing to Ecotricity, a green firm that won’t use fuel from dirty and dangerous sources such as fracking.

Do we all need to shop on a Sunday, why can’t we plan ahead, then we can go on a nice walk with our loved ones in the countryside?.

If we vote with our actions and beliefs the ‘schooled to rule’ politicians will clamour to follow.

We don’t have to destroy our world chasing wealth; step back a little, make some changes and sort out your needs from your wants.
