WHILE I have every sympathy with the resident of East Avenue complaining about parking in the road, I have recently experienced the motorists’ side of things.

Having parked on an empty supermarket car park and enjoyed an excellent meal in Tom at 101, we were disgusted to receive a parking fine of £90 10 days later.

Had we parked in East Evenue – much to the annoyance of residents – we would now be £90 better off.

I think if these ‘legal theft’ charges were removed from car parks, motorists would not park in East Avenue.
