I HOPE that local voters across the UK remember – especially here in Warrington, when Helen Jones and Nick Bent come seeking their support – that Ed Miliband’s anxiety for Scottish voters to be given a greater say on matters that affect Scotland is not matched by an eagerness to ensure that English voters have a greater say on matters that affect England alone.
Mr Miliband seems to think that English MPs meeting separately to represent English voters is (in some obscure way) undemocratic . . . despite Labour’s setting-up of devolved Welsh and Scottish government!
Uncanny how 21st century socialism draws on 20th century socialism, as set out by George Orwell: “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”
I am really hopeful that Mr Miliband’s two-faced supporters here in Warrington won’t come knocking on my door to support his Me-Facing-Both-Ways concept of a United Kingdom.
