I’VE felt the need to write about Riverside Retail Park parking, out of frustration and to warn people.

A few months ago, myself and a group of friends went for a coffee trip out to Bru Station on the Riverside Retail Park. We were there for more than two hours, all spending money on numerous cups of coffee.

After that, one of the girls and I did a bit of shopping in Home Bargains, again, spending money in that shop too.

It was here that I left my friend and went home but she went on to Sports Direct to buy some shoes.

She was in there for a further 45 minutes.

Later that week, she received a parking ticket as she had been there for longer than three hours. I wasn’t aware that there was a time limit for spending money at your retail park, Riverside.

Later that week, another of the ladies I had gone out with that day told me she had a parking ticket through the post for the same retail park.

This time, she’d been shopping on the retail park for a few hours and would’ve made it off the car park in time not to receive a parking ticket, but her son needed breastfeeding and she did so in their car park.

Should she have parked elsewhere to feed her son?

I completely understand that they want to stop people parking at the Riverside Retail Park and walking elsewhere into town where you might need to pay for parking, but surely there’s a better way of doing this rather than discriminating against their existing customers for shopping on their retail park?
