ABOUT 18 months ago, I bought 40 plasters from Superdrug, which cost me £2.50. Less than 12 months later, the same 40 plasters cost me £10. This is a 400 per cent increase. Superdrug were extremely devious in the way they went about this staggering increase.

Originally, the plasters were in packets of 40, which they then reduced to 20 and then reduced to 10. These 10 plasters cost me £2.50. How can they be allowed to get away with this?

About a month ago, I went to Asda to buy some special Candarel sugar. The price was £1. A week later, when I went in for the same item the cost had increased to £2. A 100 per cent increase.

Six months ago, the price of a bus ticket was £1.80 from Kent Road to the bus station. This has now risen to £2.30, a 50p increase in six months.

I could quote dozens of similar examples and although they all may be legally within their rights it is morally wrong.

Whatever happened to the prices and incomes policy.

The businessmen who are responsible should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves, but they do not care. They are getting away with murder and it is so frustrating that they cannot be brought to account for their actions, which all comes down to greed.

Is there anyone out there who cares? Absolutely not!
