Moving weir

First published in Letters

RECENTLY there has been a lot of talk about the regeneration of Bridge Foot.

If the weir at Knutsford Road was moved to Gatewarth, raising the water level in Bridge Foot we could enjoy scenes that are viewed around Howley, allowing the rowing club at Latchford to entertain while racing up and down the river. Fishing and canoeing could also be enjoyed.

Surely this is far better than looking at smelly muddy tidal banks?

Excellent suggestion.
Unfortunately it would mean WBC spending money in, and investing in, the West of the town, which makes it a non starter.
