AS a spokesperson for Warrington Green Party and a regular bus user, I would like like to add my voice to the protests against the latest unnecessary fare increases.

Given that the biggest business costs for Network Warrington are fuel and drivers’ wages yet neither of these has increased recently, there seems to be no justification for yet another substantial fare rise.

What guarantee do we have that this is the last?

Due to the previous cuts certain areas of Warrington like Culcheth, Warburton and Grappenhall are becoming increasingly isolated.

Let’s not forget the council bailed out the bus service last year. Network Warrington’s Customer Charter says, ‘We promise to offer a good value bus service’.

We’re encouraging as many people as possible to come along to the next Network Warrington Customer panel (contact Natalie Fayle n.fayle@networkwarrington.co.uk or call 634296 for details of the next one) and let them know how fed-up we are.
