AS a tenant of Golden Gates Housing Trust I have been informed through a consultation letter that discussions have now moved to advanced levels.

As stated in an article in the Guardian, if the partnership goes ahead the new group would own 22,000 homes and employ around 1,000.

Our cash-strapped council has agreed to lend £90 million to Helena to build 1,400 homes across the region.

Warrington Borough Council says Government cutbacks are to blame for libraries closing, grass cutting being left longer and other public services that we pay for with our council tax and yet it can find £90 million to lend to Helena partnerships – not Golden Gates Housing Trust!

It states that the new group will own 22,000 homes, not Golden Gates Housing Trust. The consultation from GGHT to its tenants states that GGHT will still be our landlord.

It also states that the 1,400 new homes to be built are across the region, that does not neccesarily mean Warrington but also St Helens where Helena Partnerships is based.

I am against this merger. Bigger is not always better. Bigger can lead to more money wasted and poor services.
