LAST Monday I was almost run over by a bus on the corner of Legh Street.

The driver honked the horn and when I turned the bus was a foot away and I was facing the driver. I was so startled I gave the driver the finger. He then proceded to give me verbal offence.

I stepped forward and complained that I had right of way as I was already crossing the road, he told me that I was wrong and that he had right of way because he was in a bus. I told him I was going to report him to the police for dangerous driving and to the bus company.

He told me good as it wouldn’t matter anyway.

I then went to the bus station and made a complaint. The inspector was very sceptical and said all buses had CCTV and this would prove what had happened. I said to keep it for the police and I would wait until the result before I reported it.

On Thursday the inspector rang to tell me he had spoken to the driver on Tuesday who admitted he had honked his horn at me but denied everything else.

He said I had just stepped into the road and the inspector then told me that the CCTV had stopped working as the bus turned into Legh Street thus there was no evidence to prove what had happened.

I visited the Network Warrington website and put another official complaint in and informed them I would be putting in a complaint of dangerous driving to the police and the possibility of tampering with evidence.
