SO the Government has announced that the good citizens of Halton will be exempt from the tolls on both the new and existing crossings of the Mersey.
Seems like they get all the advantages and none of the drawbacks.
In the meantime Warrington will see an increase in traffic, congestion and pollution.
Iām sure George Osbourne thinks this is a great wheeze to garner some votes in Halton but I know myself for one and probably many more people in Warrington will not be voting for a party which discriminates against the people of Warrington in such a cavalier manner.
By the way, not only will Halton residents cross the bridges free but the council will make a profit from the tolls paid by everybody else ā talk about rubbing salt into the wounds.
