I HAVE just come home from working a nightshift to find maggots crawling up my front door.
I looked around to see dozens of them on the drive. I went to my black bin in the corner of the drive and lifted the lid to see it was crawling with maggots. This is the third time this has happened in the past four collections.
I am very careful about waste food and everything is put into bin liners and tied up. After each collection we clean the bin and disinfect it but, obviously, it doesn’t make any difference.
If we leave our back door open leading to the garden we are plagued by bluebottles. This never happened until the introduction of fortnightly collections combined with the recent hot weather.
The next thing to come is rats and I believe the council will now charge you for a call out yet it is its decision to do fortnightly collections, certainly not the people of Warrington. I’m sure that we are not the only ones to experience this problem.
This council puts cost before public health and safety. I would like to know what other people’s experiences are.
