I WAS thinking about the proposed new parking facilities that are to be introduced and run by a private company on behalf of the council.

I assume that it is to try to get people to park better in the town and to encourage the use of public transport (read into that what you want).

Not being much of a bus user, I thought that if the services went directly to places that people use a lot such as the hospital I would be more inclined to use them, rather than having to change buses and wait in the bus station.

I do not know of any direct bus route from Great Sankey to the hospital or for that matter from any other area of the town except Orford on one service.

I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong. Would it not be a good idea for the buses to have direct services to the hospital from areas around the town that could then carry on to the town centre and then on to another area?

By varying the routes people would have a better choice of services. I for one would be happy to use a bus direct from Great Sankey to the hospital, then the town centre and on to Stockton Heath for instance.

I am sure that customers would find this beneficial, if other similar routes were in place.
