REGARDING the article about the new lease of life for the old technical college in Palmyra Square in last week’s Warrington Guardian.

Although I am pleased that this iconic building is to be used as a home to new restaurants and bars I would like to point out that after its use as a technical college it was for many years the Warrington High School for Girls – in fact a grammar school where I received an excellent education.

Then the building was used by the borough treasurer.

Incidentally I intend to have a meal in the Institution Bar, if only to see again my old stamping ground. Good luck to Ray and Ben.
