Thank you to the people of Warrington who supported us on a particularly cold and windy day on Saturday.
A group of Warrington teachers were in the town centre collecting signatures to send to Michael Gove as part of the NUT’s Stand Up For Education campaign.
We received fantastic support from parents, grandparents and other members of the public who shared our aims, calling on the coalition Government to ensure a qualified teacher in every classroom and allow councils to open new schools where they are needed.
Also to make sure changes to the curriculum and exams are positive and planned, to ensure there are enough new teachers and to stop picking fights with the ones we’ve got. To get our schools working together and fund them properly.
It was great to hear so many positive comments and pledges of support from people who really care about the future of education in the town.
