Thoughtless taxi driver
3:51pm Friday 13th September 2013 in Letters
I HAVE just had to leave three very upset children at school – one in floods of tears – because a taxi driver apparently couldn’t be bothered to look where he was going.
While crossing School Road to Latchford St James’ Primary School, on Tuesday morning, we were very nearly hit by the car as the driver was clearly oblivious to our presence.
Despite the fact that there were two adults and three children on the road the driver continued to reverse at considerable speed, until I had to pull my six-year-old daughter out of the way. He only stopped when I shouted at him to alert him that we were there.
We were already in the middle of the road so we clearly had right of way.
The car pulled out of the Harry’s Taxis office so I am assuming the driver works for them. It will certainly make me think twice about using that firm if that is an example of their standard of care.
