WHEN the RSPCA prosecute people for cruelty, the courts should lock them up and hand out a sentence that fits the crime.
Twenty weeks for choking a poor dog to death is a disgrace.
No wonder people think judges live in cloud cuckoo land and not the real world. The Warrington man who committed this crime will only serve about six weeks. What makes it more upsetting is that he has had the audacity to appeal against the lenient sentence. I hope the appeal judge increases his sentence to two years.
That would be more fitting and it might save another poor animal from cruelty.
