Day 6 - The Walk Down

After the week we had just experienced, everyone was well and truly ready to go back to civilisation, where we would get showers, proper beds and simply be able to wash our hands rather than use hand sanitizers!

Day 5 - Summit Night

To put this into perspective, climbing the summit was like climbing Ben Nevis (highest mountain in the UK) starting from the height of Mont Blanc (highest mountain in Europe) - no mean feat!

Day 4 - Alpine Desert

Today's wake up was at 5:30am for a 6:30 start, surprisingly not so bad - Guess I'm getting used to the early starts now!

Day 3 - now it starts to get tough!

Today we were awoken at 6am for a 7am start and walked 12km (which took about 7 hours) across volcanic rock and desert like landscape.

Day 2 - The Moorlands

Today we went above the jungle and into the moorlands to find a completely different landscape, which was incredibly scenic however had plenty of opportunity for a tan / sunburn as it's much less covered, therefore sun hats were essential.
