Why Wolves players love their fans

WARRINGTON Wolves players were asked what they admire most about the fans?

Richie Mathers:

The loyalty, the travelling support and they are very vocal! When I used to come to Warrington as a player there was nothing better than when the HJ was full. It’s a great feeling to run out and the whole stadium is shouting, it’s very intimidating.

Richie Myler:

I admire them when they clap players who they see are trying their hardest but things might not be going their way. For example, a young player that’s been drafted in at the last minute to play and he’s giving it his best shot.

Paul Wood:

They support us really well, always followed really well and travel with us. I’ve never had any problems, they’ve never booed me and they have always been very supportive. When I was injured they were very nice, telling me to stay positive and you really appreciate those type of fans. Hopefully I’ll show the same back on the pitch. 99.9% of fans have been magnificent to me and the support they have shown has been very loyal. I’ll never forget it.

Michael Monaghan:

It’s the passion, as it’s important to see that. They take our losses so hard, which is a good sign that they love the club.

Ryan Atkins:

Passionate and great expectations, which they should have. Need to repay them for sticking with the club. The Challenge Cup was the start but we believe we can do more for the fans. It gives you belief and it’s great to play for fans who pay their hard-earned money to come and watch you play. Just have to look at the stands to know why they’re great.

Adrian Morley:

Loyalty. They have stuck with the team through thick and thin, without having a great deal to shout about over the years and it was great to reward them with the Challenge Cup last year. We want to give them more.
