MORE than one thousand people attended St Elphin's Church today for the funeral of soldier Tom Sephton.
Private Sephton was killed while on service in Afghanistan earlier in the month.
The former Great Sankey High School pupil died just weeks after his classmate Steven Birdsall.
So many people attended the funeral that it had to be broadcast to hundreds of mourners gathered in Church Street outside the parish church.
