LEE Briers summed it up the best he could after falling at the final hurdle in the race to be champions.

"Fair credit to Leeds, they did it again," he said after the defending champions made it five title successes in six years.

"They know how to win big games like this and hopefully we'll learn from it.

"It hurts like hell but we've had a good run and sometimes you need to feel your feet and feel some pain.

"It is painful. And hopefully we can come back stronger."

Not the result we wanted but still been a great season, a challenge cup, 2nd in the table and a grand final apperance, cant really complain at that. Hopefully we can use this defeat to kick us on next year and fingers crossed we can go one step further. At the end of the day the players have done us proud

Great match you should all be proud of what you achieved this season 1 cup and appearance at the final. I know Warrington is proud of you all, maybe next year we can get the double.

well done :)

Almost winning is losing get it right you either win or lose no prizes for second place,

your only win was the challenge cup. and thats more the most,

well done the Rhinos

Well you could say Leeds almost did the double but what's the point?, well done Leeds played four won four it was your night, with the Wire making it an enjoyable spectacle.
Couldn't ask for any more from the wire, we've had improvement for each season TS has been here, I'm sure he will be working on some more.

Its obvious to me we desperately need a right centre. Weve struggled there all year. Best side won no doubt. I fear for Joel Monaghans defence. He drops the ball from bombs regularly, even in attack though he is very good in that area, and he has a terrible habit of losing his winger. He did it against Hull and it happened again last night. Briers and Myler had little impact last night but you have to give Leeds credit for that.

I nearly cried myself last night,But proud of the team especially as Silverwood lost the plot and became a 14th man for Leeds.Couple of dropped balls and missed tackles cost us dearly.
Hopefully next year!

dear me i have never read such clap trap the refs in our game are rubbish all year, but no way was he biased towards Leeds, he gave warrington as much, like the try scored after the Leeds player ran out of defense and got a smack clean in the face, he dropped ball and warrington scored ? should have been a penalty to leeds.

we see rubbish like that every week, but dont try to put the game result on the ref Leeds were the better team on the day by some way

Could not agree more with the Dr, the simple facts were that Leeds did their homework on the Wolves and got it spot on, we were outoutplayed from 1 to 13 and they were a country mile better than us, end of story.

Outplayed from 1 to 13......better by a country mile......?????????

is it any wonder we arent playing in front of crowds like Wigan do when we have people so quick to beat up the best Rugby playing team over the last two years........I'm stunned by the anti Warrington stuff.

yes we lost and deservedly so, but it was indiscipline and poor ball retention (not aimed at Paul wood by the Way) that cost us.

The one piece of Magic and Rugby skill in the whole game came from Lee Briers left to right pass to Joel Monaghan for a stunning try. he didnt have his best game but was he outplayed by Danny Mcguire .....come on....

Did Rob Burrow or Mcguire put in any kicks of note any passes of note? No.

Because in a grand final Sinfield grinds teams down with a constant inside pass to a steady stream of willing runners, and then Kicks well and often. If they were a country mile ahead of us then the game is in a terrible state.

Well done to leeds I have no problem with them being champions or the format of the competition but on Saturday they simply shaded a tight game, and over the whole season they have played quite poorly something which we have only done on a couple of occasions when resting players.

get a grip people......

Leeds are champions and were the better team on the night no complaints, it's just trying to explain and give a valid reason to non rugby people, how a team that finishes ten points behind the league leaders, and with many Leeds fans admitting that through the regular season they were average, end up as champions?, when I tell them that's the way it is they just shake their heads in disbelief.

It's a great occasion for all the RL community, Leeds got it right on the night, I do think the RL should give the table toppers some kind of better recognition for what is a great achievement.

As I said they had done their homework and got the tactics spot on, just stating facts and that does not make me or anyone else who posts criticisms a bad supporter.

I watched the game on Satt TV out in Bahrain.
I agree about, how we were outplayed and Leeds had done there home work very well.
We lost 2 games in the playoff and both times we were stiffled out of the game by big defensive displays.
In the final, Leeds were quicker off the mark in defence and pegged us back.
Sometimes we have to get away from the notion that we can win by scoring more tries than the opposition and just grind it out.
If the opposition stops you from playing, sometimes you have to do the same and do it in the same way, grind it out the hard way.
We let Leeds gain to many yards compared to Wolves, we slower moving forward at the play of the ball.
They palyed us in our half for a high percentage of the game.
The writing was on the wall after their semi- final against Wigan. Leeds won with with a tremendous defensive diaplay.
Don't get me wrong, i am sick as the rest regard the result, but we were beaten by a good side on the night.

We have to improve our defensive plan and revert to it in games like this.
Each referee have their own way of interpresting the rules and can't ever be 100% on every technical infringement.
But if one team are micro seconds quicker at the play of the ball in defence (could be termed offside) we have to match it and play by the same rule.
Both sides were pulled up on their own try line, for offside. The try line being a good line to use as reference.
The problem was, we were on our own try line, defending more than Leeds were.
We were evenly matched, I think they won the game on being slight better with the technical game and working smarter, with some slight discrepancies (in refereeing) that you will find with all games.
Leeds have proved to be masters of the grand final over the past couple of years.
Learn from this defeat and next time it will be our win.
