WOLVES are hopeful they will welcome Garreth Carvell and Ben Westwood back to the fray for their make-or-break play-off semi final clash with St Helens at Langtree Park on Saturday, kick off 6.15pm.

Having missed both of the forwards for Wolves’ 24-12 defeat of Hull FC at The Halliwell Jones Stadium at the weekend, Wolves boss Tony Smith is optimistic that his pack should receive a welcome boost for the trip to Saints.

“Carvell should be back available for selection along with Ben Westwood, hopefully,” he said.

“Ben trained at the back end of last week and early this week, and we will probably give him until Wednesday or Thursday to make a final decision.

“But signs are looking good.”

Richie Myler and Michael Monaghan have overcome head injuries suffered in the win against Hull, while Lee Briers and Ben Harrison are both fit to take on Mike Rush’s side after recent leg injuries, meaning that Smith could have a full-strength squad (except for Gareth O’Brien) at his disposal.

“Every one of them has come through ok from Saturday and we have a clean bill of health for this weekend,” said Smith.
