WARRINGTON Wolves’ players constructed a guard of honour for teammate David Solomona as the squad’s home campaign came to an end against Hull FC.

The former New Zealand and Samoa back rower’s contract comes to an end when the season finishes and will not be renewed.

Solomona, aged 34, has spent three seasons in the twilight of his career at The Halliwell Jones Stadium and produced some memorable moments along the way with his wonderful handling skills and juggernaut running.

He has done remarkably well to fight back into contention at the back end of this campaign after the horrific leg break and ankle dislocation he suffered in a freak training accident during the club’s pre-season camp in Australia.

Solomona, who has also played for Sydney City Roosters, Paramatta Eels, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Bradford Bulls, was in the 19-man squad against Hull but missed out on the final 17.
