WOLVES boss Tony Smith gave an update on the squad’s injury situation following the 24-12 play-offs elimination of Hull FC.

He remains optimistic of Garreth Carvell (back spasm) and Ben Westwood (medial knee ligament) being available for next weekend’s semi final, while he does not believe there have been any serious injuries in the game tonight.

Smith said: “Carvell I’m very confident about for next week.

“Westwood’s been out since the Challenge Cup Final and we’ll need to put him through the rigours but if he gives me the nod that he’s right to go then he’ll be in our 17 I’m pretty sure of that.

“Those who have played tonight are in pretty good shape.

“Woody (Paul Wood ) has got a broken nose and Monas (Michael Monaghan ) has seen a few stars and cuckoo birds a few times, while Myler (Richie) got a couple of knocks to the head too.

“I don’t think there’s anything serious though.”
