SQUAD NEWS: Smith makes three changes for visit of Huddersfield

TONY Smith has made three changes to Wolves’ 19-man Challenge Cup final squad ahead of Sunday’s Super League fixture against Huddersfield Giants at the Halliwell Jones Stadium , kick off 3pm.

Mike Cooper , Tyrone McCarthy and Ben Westwood , who suffered a medial ligament injury in the 35-18 triumph over Leeds last week, make way for Matty Blythe , Chris Bridge and Rhys Williams as Wolves prepare to face the Giants for the first time since the cup semi-final victory at Salford City Stadium.

Wolves’ second place is secure, but Huddersfield are still scrapping it out for their final position in the top eight under the guidance of new coach Paul Anderson.

Smith said: “We understand that the Giants are a team that have gone through a lot of change.

“They are a tough team with some terrific players which makes for a very dangerous fixture for us.

“We’ll treat them with the serious respect they deserve and we look forward to the challenge they will bring to us on Sunday.”
