Warrington Wolves' top-two spot confirmed after St Helens and Catalan Dragons losses

WARRIN GTON Wolves’ top-two finish and home start in the play-offs have been confirmed today.

Nearest rivals St Helens and Catalan Dragons both lost and, thanks to Wolves’ 30-10 victory over Wigan on Saturday, are now seven points adrift of Tony Smith’s side with three rounds of Super League left to play.

Leeds Rhinos have joined Saints and Dragons on 30 points and Wolves could yet play any of those three, or either Hull or Huddersfield, in the opening game of the play-offs as the battle for positions three to eight continue.

Saints lost 33-32 at Wakefield following a 79th minute drop goal from Paul Sykes, while Hull overhauled Catalan 30-10 and Leeds hammered Widnes 68-24 (Friday).

"Leeds Rhinos have joined Saints and Dragons on 30 points and Wolves could yet play any of those three, or either Hull or Huddersfield, in the opening game of the play-offs as the battle for positions two to eight continue. "

So either the guardian have written off Warrington chances of claiming top spot or they have failed to garsp that as (per headline).."top-two spot CONFIRMED" its actually on positions THREE to eight that are being played for.

Now Edited: Of course, MikeJT, it should be three to eight still up for grabs (slip of the pen!). Thanks for spotting.
