Cut Simon Grix could have gone back on for Warrington Wolves against Wigan Warriors if needed

SIMON Grix left the field against Wigan Warriors with a bad head cut but could have returned if needed.

As it was, with Wolves running out 30-10 winners, Tony Smith elected not to put him back on the field.

“He came off with a head split,” said Smith.

“We had him on standby in case he was needed after having it all stitched up.

“I don’t know how many stitches he had but it took quite some time.

“But he wasn’t needed.”

Grix is expected to be avialable for selection when Wolves visit London Broncos on Friday, kick off 8pm.
