Warrington Wolves rio off to Oz with England

BEN Currie sets off on tour to Australia with the Great Britain Academy today, Thursday, on the back of a hat-trick for Wolves’ under 18s.

Currie, who has made several six Super League appearances in the back row this season, was named at scrum half in the 56-16 defeat of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at Wilderspool on Saturday.

Also among the try scorers was James Saltonstall, two, who joins Currie and Gavin Bennion on the tour Down Under, Will Fairhurst, two, and Declan Patton, while Scott Turner kicked eight goals.

Wolves’ under 20s will face their Castleford counters in the Valvoline Cup as the curtain raiser to the Super League game between the two clubs at the Probiz Coliseum on Sunday, kick off 12.30pm.
